An old image of Riley, with his hair still grown out a few inches. His glasses are tilted downwards, looking at something. We see him through the gap between two bookshelves, with a dozen books in a row sat in the foreground of the image.

Riley Swan grew up in a dozen places across Australia, and has now settled on unceded Kaurna land to study a Bachelor of Creative Industries in Writing & Publishing. He loves writing about teenagers and young adults grappling with the familiar nuances of being autistic, nonbinary, and a lesbian while pursuing their dreams. When he's not studying or writing, Riley works in student advocacy, plays video games for ten hours straight, and thinks about cats.

SKELETONS IN THE FORESTOlive Van Doren is the child of their catholic boarding school’s headmaster, and they’re used to it. They're not used to being deeply in love with their roommate and best friend, Rhys Lou—especially when she kisses someone else in the library, and Olive is beside themself with jealousy. But when they realise the kiss isn’t consensual, Olive’s feelings are replaced with a rage so strong it shakes the library apart. As it turns out, once you start causing harm, it's hard to stop.

THE GHOST ON OXFORD STREET
Short story in the CHANGELINGS anthology, coming in 2023!
Garnet knows they're autistic and nonbinary, but accepting it is hard. On their eighteenth birthday, their first visit to a club results in a full-blown meltdown. Disappearing to the bathroom to calm down, Garnet comes face-to-face with the decades-old ghost of Chris, who takes them back in time. There, Garnet learns about the past's brutal treatment of the LGBTQ+ community, while witnessing the pride and love spread in older queer spaces.
